Providing for older children and young people
A
common myth is that all that older children and young people need
is a teen shelter and a ballcourt.
This ballcourt has been squeezed in next to people's windows resulting
in complaints about noise from the local community. It is an ugly
and unwelcoming facility for teenagers.
This
is how it looks from the inside.
One of the key lessons learned from the Regenerating Play project
is the importance of designing places for children and young people
that fit into the local environment.
