About Robin Sutcliffe

Robin Sutcliffe is Managing Director of Sutcliffe Play Ltd. Robin
cares deeply about the many, often controversial issues surrounding
children's play and is a significant authority representing his
industry at regional, national and European levels, as an expert
on the safety of children at play, the topics of inclusivity and
risk in the playground, play space design, community consultation
and the role of play in regeneration.
Sutcliffe Play was a founder member of the Association of Play
Industries. A former Chairman, Robin now represents the Association
on the Children's Play Policy Forum and Chairs the National Play
Safety Forum. He represented the UK during the writing of the European
Standard for play equipment.
A founder member and Vice President of the Federation of European
Play Industries (FEPI), he also chairs F.E.P.I.'s safety committee
- the European Play Safety Forum. F.E.P.I.'s aim is to bring together
companies from the play sector right across Europe to improve the
quality of children's play experience.
More locally, he is chair of Yorkshire Play, whose overall aim
it is to promote access to excellent play and playwork opportunities
in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
