About Professor David Ball

David Ball is Professor of Risk Management at Middlesex University. Previously he was Director of the Centre for Environment & Risk Management at UEA, and he also worked for 14 years in the Scientific Branch of the Greater London Council.

David has carried out numerous projects for government departments, regulators, the private sector and international agencies such as the WHO and the IAEA on risk projects of diverse kinds.

So far as children and risk are concerned, his involvement goes by to 1986 when he worked for the GLC. His latest publication on this topic is a chapter in 'Growing up with risk,' edited by Betsy Thom et al, and published by The Policy Press, May 2007.
