Everything we say will be taken down and used in evidence
Our organisation is voluntary sector and provides indoor and outdoor recreation facilities to young children mainly 0-5 but also older ones during the school holidays. Last year we had a staggering 27,000 visits but I am STILL asked to prove to our funders that we are providing enough "outcomes" (I'd be a millionaire by now if I had a fiver for every time I saw that word).
Does anyone know where we can find some good but fairly brief evidence based pieces of research on the benefits of play?
I think most of us on this forum probably have enough nowse to know what these factors are (confidence, exploration, self-esteem etc) but, as I said above, some of our funders still need persuading! Posted by: Nigel Scott-Dickeson, Project Manager, Springboard Project, -1 June 2020, 1-:13

Back to the main page. Comments ReceivedI would be suprised if the CPC did not have plenty of suggestions and references. Suggest you email them direct.
By the way, is it clear what they mean by 'outcomes' - it's slippery term in practice. Posted by: Benard Spiegal, Principal, PLAYLINK, -1 June 2020, 1-:13
